Greetings to the wonderful Atkinson Elementary Staff and Community!
It is my hope that this message will express the excitement I feel about being able to return to Atkinson as the Assistant Principal. This community is where I began my journey here in Griffin Spalding. Over my 20 years in education, I have worked across 3 states and in a variety of positions, to include, special/general education teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. Returning to serve the dedicated staff, amazing scholars, and committed families of this community is incredibly rewarding.
Learning is a passion for me! After obtaining my bachelor’s degree in teaching the Deaf and Hearing Impaired, I received my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in teaching English language learners. I recently obtained a second Master’s degree in Social Work. Another passion for me is dancing and I currently teach dance at my church, Rising Star MBC. I also enjoy reading and exploring new places.
My family is deeply important to me as well. I am married with one daughter, age 14, and one son, age 8. We also have 3 dogs. I was born and raised in New Orleans. Yes, New Orleans, known for Mardi Gras and amazing food!
This is to share a little of who I am with you and to let you know how very excited I am to be able to return to the community that initially embraced me and made Griffin Spalding home to my family and to me. This is going to be an amazing year and I am so thankful to be here with the opportunity to continue to help grow the Legacy of Atkinson Elementary.
